FIELD TRIPS
We have so many opportunities for adventures in the DC Metro Area!
Here are a few that our local homeschooling families have enjoyed just to give you an idea!
Sugarloaf Mountain is a short hike with great views. It's not too hard for a kids of all ages, but it's probably best to bring a carrier for a baby and some water and snacks!
This local farm offers a guided tour where you learn about the farm and interact with the alpacas! Children can feed and pet the alpacas, ask questions and explore the gift shop. It's a great educational opportunity!
The National Gallery of Art is one of the most educational locations in the area. It's a great place for kids to learn and explore. They can take a sketchpad and create art of their own.
Great Falls Park is full of adventure and fresh air. It has great trails, rocks to climb and is tons of fun.
Butler's Orchard has so many activities and crops to explore. One of the best things they offer are their delicious blueberries! Bring a sunhat and water!
The College Park Aviation Museum is full of history and activities. The children can get their hands on simulators, airplanes and dress up clothes. It's a great place to go and learn.
The homeschool days at Colonial Williamsburg are some of the best for enriching educational experiences.
There are so many amazing performances listed by Arts on Stage! It's a great way to expose kids to theater, history and literature.
